Solvang seems to be somewhere quaint in California. Never been.

I have mentioned The Journal of Urban Typography before. I browsed around the archives over there and found a few good ampersands. The one on the bottom right was actually one of mine that made it’s way over there. It’s all coming full circle. Also this.

Jennifer found this interesting specimen in Redwood City. This example is really more like a clef than an ampersand, but I like that you can get birds and flowers all in one place. The sign is a bit faded, but the typography is interesting in it’s own way.
