Dry Cleaners are usually pretty reliable places to find ampersands. This one is nice and red and glowing through the window.

Squarish-roundish eurostyle ampersand.

J & D Liquors. This is the faded, sunny side of the street.

S & B Liquors. There are quite a few liquor stores in my neighborhood.

Neon ampersand behind a very dirty window. I really love this photo.

R &. A nice molded plastic sign. There seems to have been a time in mid-century America where very stretched/extended Helvetica clones were very popular.

Not neon. Backlit plastic. These cheap signs are killing the traditional craft of neon sign art.

Here are a couple I spotted on my way home today:

There were hand painted Ampersands

A local deli. I really like this one. Hand-painted and chubby.

Coffee & Donuts. Another old-school hand-painted sign.

Some clean sans-serif ones

The old classic Helvetica ampersand from the Crate & Barrel logo. Helvetica always looks great giant and 3-D like that.

Your standard sans-serif ampersand. From a deli/liquor store awning.

A curly one

Probably a law firm.

Some odd ones

nice and square. “Et” style ampersand, appears to be based on a “B.”

This one is absolutely horrible. Notice the “8″ shape.
